Today with the high cost of advertising, Google has provided the Local businesses with a different way of getting their advertising message across.
With the advent of cell phones, with the ability of accessing the internet, Google Maps have very much come to the forefront. Take for example, your hot water tank has sprung a leak and water is everywhere. In the old days, you would grab the Yellow Pages and you would thumb through the book until you found a local Plumber.
Today, one would type one word on his/her cell phone in the search box, “Plumber” and there would appear, dozens of names of local Plumbers within blocks of your home.
Same thing, you have an accident, you need a Personal Injury Attorney, key it in on your phone, and once again you find what you need. There is now no need to put your town in that search, for Google knows by your IP address, exactly where you are phoning from.
It stands to reason, should your Company be in the number one position for whatever the client is in need of, whether it be a Painter, Dentist or what have you, your company, will most likely receive that call.
We find that Google Maps are proving they are the best, and certainly the least expensive way of advertising your local business. You could advertise through radio, and/or newspapers, however the costs can run very high.
Google have another way for you to advertise, that of Pay Per Click. In their Searches, on investigation you will find that this is also very expensive. Take for example, say you are a Divorce Lawyer, on investigating the price per click for this is astonishing, I was shocked to find the Company in the number one position was required to pay $5.98 per click. That is a lot of money for that Lawyer to pay, however a number do.
